Situation: Tu Vishan begins to dive to the ocean floor and the city of Keeliai seems unbothered by the process. Bonfire funtimes are made available to all!

[Peggy spots Lieuen and considers for a moment whether or not to approach him. But he could have a different perspective to offer, so she makes her away over, easily and casually.]

I understand you're the man who organized this whole thing? [She makes a vague gesture towards the bonfires.]

[hazelwood]

[Lieuen is just completing a minor business transaction when she approaches and the kedan to which he speaks is easily dismissed. He then turns towards Peggy, offering a bright and congenial smile.]

Indeed. A slight comfort against the cold of the deep.

[She nods at the smile, keeping a politely interested one on her own face.]

Is it that common an occurrence? Everyone seems so prepared for it.

[hazelwood]

But of course it is. [There is a brief flash of puzzlement at one thinking this terribly abnormal, but then he recalls that these Foreigners do much enjoy the liberties of a turtle life.] It is hardly the place of a humble race such as we kedan to change the habits of a turtle as great as Tu Vishan.

I don't imagine it to be a prior experience for most of the foreigners here. Going under the ocean in general can be a rather terrifying venture.

[hazelwood]

Utterly safe, I assure you. [A small placation, but one nonetheless and it comes with his trademarked pleasant smile.] I have experienced many a dive here in Keeliai without more than a few mists and a handful of water droplets landing upon my cap.

How long ago was the last one?

[hazelwood]

Why, before the Foreigner population had been established. [There is a dawning of understanding in his eyes and he gestures high above to the barrier protecting them.] It caused a minor scuffle, as the entire reconstruction schedule for your suites had to be adjusted for the shell-lit hours

[She raises an eyebrow. When she speaks, her tone is still light and casually curious.] Reconstruction? What happened to the first suites?

[hazelwood]

[The query seems odd by the puzzlement in his expression and his gesticulations turn ever so slightly dismissive.] Nothing terrible, I assure you. We had some slight miscommunication regarding the number of suites per building -- seems that the Emperor wanted four and our arrangement outlined three. [A regretful sigh.] Very unfortunate. And very expensive, but I am an honourable kedan and so saw that they were rebuilt according to the correct specifications.

Ah. [She nods.] I'm glad the scuffle didn't develop into something much worse.

Is there any sort of pattern to the diving? Or does Tu Vishan go under at random?

[hazelwood]

Quite! A true misfortune it would have been had it become unprofitable as a result. [His tone is aghast at the very thought. He does pause to tip his hat to her in thanks for the consolation.]

As to the diving, ah-- [He raises his shoulders in a rather hapless shrug.] The mind of the great turtle is beyond my humble reasoning. When and why it descends may have a pattern to one matched to Tu Vishan's lifespan. I, however, cannot claim to such longevity.

[Another nod, in understanding.] Given it truly does have a mind of it's own, that does make a lot of sense. It just doesn't hurt to ask.

Does it stay under for any particular amount of time, or is it the same randomness?

[hazelwood]

Much the same, dear lady. There is always a truncation, for even a great turtle cannot hold its breath for all eternity.

Please, my name is Peggy Carter. And I thought as much. Still, thank you being so willing to answer my questions.

Beauty and function rolled into one name, Miss Carter. I expected little else indeed. [He tips his hat to her.]

It has been a pleasure. Do keep me in mind if you need anything else. I may not have all that the Emperor has to offer, but I do have many a contact on this blessed turtle.

[She shakes her head a little, but nods in politeness for the compliment.]

I will undoubtedly do that. Thank you. [And he's been ten times more pleasant than the Emperor. A bonus!]
