Situation: Tu Vishan begins to dive to the ocean floor and the city of Keeliai seems unbothered by the process. Bonfire funtimes are made available to all!

[Peggy's sitting, and she glances upward when she feels another presence approaching. She can read body language well enough to note some level of discomfort.]

There's plenty of hot cider around, if you're looking for a little extra warmth.

[Her voice shocks him out of his mini-haze, and he turns to look at her with a small start. If she hasn't noticed them already, his reptilian features - green skin, a beak, and three-fingered hands - should be fully visible beneath the clothing.]

[He smiles a little self-consciously and finally moves to sit near her. No money for cider, really...but oh well. Conversation keeps the brain just as warm.]

Thanks, but I'm good. Just came to...see the crowd.

[She did notice - but she's a little less wary or confused since coming to live on a giant swimming turtle. And with shapeshifting kedan neighbors, it's not something about the stranger she really dwells too deeply on right now.]

[Peggy nods at what he says; that's half the reason she's here as well.]

Always useful. Moreso than most people think.

[He glances to her with a slight grin before turning back towards the fire, drawing his knees up and resting his elbows on them. Looks like he wasn't the only one with that idea.]

It's not often an entire community has the chance to get together like this. [A pause.] Not that the kedan seem too surprised about the whole thing.

No, they certainly seemed rather prepared for this sort of thing. Even if they didn't care to share much about it, when asked. That they are ready is something of a relief, but it makes you wonder what else is a possibility.

[duelkatana]

If there is something bigger going on, I doubt we'll be in kept the dark for much longer...it's not like there's much else to do down here.

[In other words: he's restless and antsy. It's the first time something of this magnitude has happened since he got here, and the relatively calm attitude being shown towards it is making him a little bit anxious.]

Perhaps Tu Vishan just felt like going for a swim. [Even as she says it, it's clear she's expecting something else to happen, sooner rather than later.]

And we're just along for the ride, huh? [There's some wryness in his tone, but he does pick up on what she's really getting at - and he agrees. Leo's attention suddenly snaps back to the bonfire, a thoughtful noise sounding deep in his throat.] The Emperor hasn't been around much, either. I wonder if she knew this was coming.

She's never much around to begin with, beyond the monthly audiences. Though I wouldn't be surprised if she did know what's possibly to come.

[duelkatana]

The Alderwood Commander served as her proxy in the last one. [Whoops, his tone is...kind of abruptly sour. Yeah, his audience with that guy wasn't all that great.] This isn't exactly proof, but...I have been trying to figure out why she wasn't there.

I've heard. I do wonder why myself, but that's another answer we're not likely to receive. Have you found any sort of clues yourself?

[duelkatana]

Nothing. I have a few wild guesses, but that's about it. [He glances to the gathered crowds around them, still murmuring their own conversations, then looks back towards her.] How about you?

[She shakes her head.] No more than you. I spoke briefly with Lieuen, but the most I got was along the veins of preparedness.
