Situation: Tu Vishan begins to dive to the ocean floor and the city of Keeliai seems unbothered by the process. Bonfire funtimes are made available to all!

[ ariadne's hands were shoved deep into her pockets, with her coat buttoned up all the way to the top as she approached Annabeth, her brow arching in a clear curiosity. ]

Mind if I sit? [ it's asked politely and almost, in a sense, nervously. still unsure of how she should behaving around all these projections. ]

[sophos]

[Annabeth looks up and over, and she'd make a gesture towards the spot if her hands weren't burrowed.]

Not at all. Ariadne, yeah?

Yeah. [ she nodded, smiling faintly as she took a seat next to her, her eyes fixing on the flames as she did, sighing in thought as she did. ] Annabeth, right?

Has anything like this happened before...with all of us here like this? [ as she had noticed that the kedan had been taking this all in stride and it only had her wondering how normal this was going to be. ]

[sophos]

That's right. [She nods as Ariadne takes her seat.]

If you mean scuba diving turtles, no, nothing like this. I once asked the Emperor if Tu Vishan ever went underwater, and all she told me was they were prepared for such a thing.

They really love being vague here, don't they? [ she couldn't help but make a small face at that, not at all impressed with the idea of that. ]

You almost have to wonder just what they aren't telling us, and why.

[sophos]

Love is probably not strong enough a term. [She can appreciate the face. Annabeth's frustration with the lack of information knows no bounds.]

There's certainly enough to wonder about. But apparently we'll be informed of everything as necessary! [Her voice is ripe with mock gratitude.]

[build]

[ a faint snort of amusement slips out of her at that, simply appreciating how annabeth was being over it all. ]

Yeah, well... I've never been one that was good at sitting and waiting for things to come to me. [ which really could be a bad thing, or it might very well be a good thing - it was debatable. ] I mean...you would think if we put our heads together, we might be able to get a few more answers out of them.

[sophos]

Me neither, really. You should check out the Emperor's library, if you get the chance. A lot of information's missing, but it's still worth a poke.

[But she nods, with a little sigh.] The fact that so many minds are trying already with no results is a little worrisome, but maybe there's just a bigger lack of communication.

Yeah. I was planning on checking that out this week. But... [ a long drawn out sigh escapes her at that as she looks over towards annabeth with a shrug. ] I'm not exactly sure when they is going to happen now.

I guess we just have to take things as they come and all. Though... has anyone thought about coming up with some type of communication system -- outside of the network we all seem to be on -- where we can at least exchange notes or something -- maybe help with out lack of communication?

[sophos]

Next time she holds an audience, ask. Assuming we're back above the water by then. I was as honest as possible, and she gave me access for a week.

[Annabeth makes a thoughtful, noise, nods.] Were you here when the turtle docked, so to speak, at the mainland? Someone created cell phone like communicators. That's a definite idea. I'm a little surprised it hasn't stuck around.

[ again she nods in understanding (she would sure try and take annabeths suggestion and just talk with the emperor), letting her attention move up to the barrier above them, her brow furrowed in thought. ]

I think I just missed that expedition. [ she had heard bits and pieces about it, but nothing too detailed. and nothing she was really sitting and dwelling on. ] How often does this Turtle seem to do these sort of things?

[sophos]

I'm not sure if that's fortunate or unfortunate for you. It was about two months ago.

[She takes a sip of her cider.] It's just been the two cases, really. Making mainland contact and the diving underwater. But it does make me wonder what else it has in store for us. It swims to the beat of its own drum, so to speak.

[build]

[ she snorts softly at that, shoving her hands back into her pockets as her attention moves back onto the fire, silently considering her next few words. ]

Well whatever it is, I'm sure the Kedan aren't going to talk about it. [ which only has her rolling her eyes at the thought of (they are the least helpful projections around) ] Which only has you wondering why.

[sophos]

They're not the most talkative about the more important stuff. Either they don't really know, or they're not allowed to speak about it. [There's a few seconds of a pause.] If it's the latter, it suggests Eshai has some kind of hold over them.

[build]

The most I seemed to get was from Evandau. [ she sighs at that, turning to look over at annabeth, her brow furrowing in consideration. ] He told me that we were suppose to earn our way back.

Has she ever mentioned anything like that before?

[sophos]

Surprisingly, yeah, I got a little more from him, too. He said part of it was not wanting to repeat himself every time a new person arrived.

But no, all I've ever gotten from her was we were ill likely to find a way home by looking for it.

[build]

[ she just frowns slightly, shaking her head at the thought. ]

This place is way too damn confusing. [ well, compared to any other dream she knew about. ]

But anyway... [ she sighs, glancing over towards her with a faint smile. ] I never asked where you're from, did I?

[sophos]

Confusing's one word for it. [It's said with mild annoyance but the utmost agreement.]

I've lived most of my life on Long Island. [It's where she'll always consider her home is.] Assuming you know what that is. What about you?

[build]

[ she laughed faintly at that, nodding in understanding. ]

I was actually studying architecture back in Paris before this.

So yeah...I know where Long Island is. [ though she hadn't been there in some time, it was nice to know they had some commonality between them ] I'd give anything to be there or back home right now.

I had a life back home that I loved.

[sophos]

[!!!]

Architecture? Really? [No Annabeth calm down. She can't stop the smile that flies to her face.] I'm something of an architect myself. Where were you studying in Paris?

[But then she frowns, in understanding. Especially lately, when she's felt so unbelievably homesick and lonely for it.] Yeah. Me, too. There's so much I miss.

[build]

You are?

[ oh my gosh, YES! ] Do you study it somewhere?

I mean... [ she smiles a bit brighter, nodding her head with a bit more excitement. ] I was studying back at the École D'Architecture in Paris. And yeah...I miss being back there.

[sophos]

I'm mostly self taught, with the occasional footnote from school. I've been studying it for years though. If I ever go to college, that's what I'd do. [There are a lot of rather depressing connotations with the possibility of reaching college, so she'll just shove that aside for now and bask in the excitement.]

[Her face lights up in recognition at the name of the school.] Ohhh, that must be amazing to be there. I've only been to Paris once, and it was for more recreational reasons.

[ she smiles a bit brighter, nodding her head in understanding as her attention moves from the fire to the sky above then back to her, sighing as she did. ]

Well...we can only hope we get out of here soon. Because it would be nice to get back home so we can have our lives back.

I've been here for months, and there's still nothing I'd like more than to get home. The sooner this stupid threat shows up, the better.
