Situation: Tu Vishan begins to dive to the ocean floor and the city of Keeliai seems unbothered by the process. Bonfire funtimes are made available to all!

[Raph just snorts. He has no idea what the kid could mean by that, and he doesn't want to bother dwelling on it. All he needs to know is that she's evil, she's taken him and everyone else around here away from their homes and families, and no one is gonna do anything she asks without a fight.]

[Victor leaves things in silence for a few moments. He watches the fire, thinking about some of the things he and Leo had talked about.]

Are you and your brothers the only mutants were you come from or are there others?

[He's curious about the mutants of other worlds.]

[That's kind of a personal question there, pal, and it earns Victor a sidelong glance before Raph answers. He's not exactly comfortable with taking about himself or other people like him to just anyone. Force of habit and all of that. Living a life in secret can do that to you. But he doesn't see the harm in answering this guy now. They're in an entirely different dimension, and the kid's a mutant, after all.

He shrugs, trying to look nonchalant and kinda failing in the process. His posture's way too guarded to pull it off.]

There's six of us. Or at least six mutants like us.

There are other kinds of mutants there?

[Leo hadn't mentioned that. Victor's just wondering how things are for mutants in other worlds. Sure, things are getting kind of better for them in his world but they still aren't anywhere near where they were before M-Day. He's hoping other mutants in other worlds don't have it as bad.]

Yeah, but they ain't exactly as charming as the rest of us.

[Understatement of the century, right there.]

The villain kind, huh? [He shrugs.] We've got them back home too. Such a pain to deal with.

[meanandgreen]

[He shakes his head. Mutants as villains? That just doesn't seem right to him. Where he's from, sometimes it feels like mutants are the only people you can really trust. And the ones you can't... well, that's not their fault. He's met some people that've had a lot of horrible things done to them, but they were far from evil.]

I'm talkin' about the crazy kind. The ones that've got so many screws loose they won't stop tryin' to eat people.

[Victor winces at that bit of information.]

That's...not a brand of crazy we've got where I come from. At least not in mutants that I know about. We do have crazy metal monsters that try to hunt and eat mutants and anyone else in their path though.

[meanandgreen]

Yeah, we got those too.

[Mousers. He hates mousers, and is kinda glad he hasn't thought about them in a while.]

Bunch of 'em busted up our home and tried makin' a meal out of my uh... ["Master" always sounds weird in this context.] My father.

I'm gettin' the feeling mutants ain't much better off no matter where you go.

[He winces.]

Damn. Did he get away from them okay?

It's starting to sound that way alright. [Victor sighs.] No matter where we're from, we have to deal with the whole world that hates and fears us thing.

He was fine.

[He's a freakin' ninja master. Of course he was fine. But not like Victor knows that.

This's about when Raph starts brooding again. Really brooding. He's not even in his world, and it's so easy to get tangled up in how unfair his life really is. How good humans got it made.

But this isn't his world. It's not even Earth, and he's got a whole other set of problems he's gotta deal with.

Even in a world full of freaks, where he can walk around in daylight, have a job and a house and clean food... he still manages to be homesick as hell. Because really? None of that crud matters. Here he's got freedom, even if it is tainted with the Emperor's twisted will. But it's nothing without his family in one piece.

He gets up, muttering something about having to go, and drops the borrowed blankets within Victor's reach.]

That's good to hear.

[He offers a small smile to the news. He's heard too many stories of mutants losing their parents and it's always good to hear one that didn't turn tragic.

He goes silent for the brooding, glancing over when Raph starts muttering.]

Sure. Talk to you later.

[Vic offers a little wave before picking those blankets back up.]
