Situation: Tu Vishan continues swimming along the ocean floor after his monumental dive, but it turns out there are a whole bunch of undead that want in on the party!

[He holds out the flamethrower for Cass to take, before hovering slightly and making a large green bubble.

He'd have preferred a Hummer, honestly, but there's not enough time and he needs to conserve power.] We're going to the palace - it'll only take a few minutes. Step in. [Beat.] It's safe.

[She accepts the flamethrower gingerly, inspecting it with a frown.

The kedan eye each the bubble dubiously, before looking at each other, and then at Cass. She looks up from the weapon and nods, stepping aside and gesturing them forward.]

Promise.

[After a moment, a woman steps forward, and the rest follow suit. Cass looks up at Kyle.]

You've, um. Done this a lot, right? [He's confident about it, but that can mean a lot of things.]

[imaginate]

Yeah. Don't worry. [When it came to the job, he knew exactly what he was doing.

He waited for the last of them to step into the bubble, before looking at her.] You too. There's other groups out there, we'll find them faster if we work together. [Then, he looks a little quizzically at the flamethrower.] Uh, you don't have any issues using that on the zombies, do you?

[She's reluctant to leave her sector if she doesn't have to, not until she knows everyone is safe, but she nods. He's right.]

...Issues? [Blink.] No, just - never used one before. And I... [Another frown. She's not sure how to put it.] I'm used to - using my hands. To - get the job done.

[She moves as she talks, stepping into the light.]

[imaginate]

[He smiles, hoping it'll put her at ease.] Okay - I'll be the brains if you want to be the brawn. [When she's close enough, he points to the trigger.] Just take aim and fire. I've got the rest covered.

[As long as he doesn't get distracted...]

[Her lips curl into a brief scowl, before she realises he doesn't mean anything by it; there's no condescension or dismissal in him.

There's some concern, though, and her brow furrows.]

That works. But... [She wants to ask if he'll be okay, but she knows not everyone likes that out here, when they're fighting.] I can - take over. After I get used to it.

[imaginate]

Do that. [Always good to have a Bat watching your back. Kyle needs to stay awake and focused on the civilians, not the zombies.

He turns to the people in the bubble. He almost wants to quip an air safety brochure, but that might not help as well as it does back home.

Still.] All aboard Green Lantern Airways?

[Cass lowers the weapon, giving their group, huddling close together now, another smile.

They look a bit nonplussed at Kyle's announcement, but she grins.]

Do we - get snacks?

[imaginate]

No, sorry. The in-flight entertainment's down too. [Perks up.] But there's a great view. [He closes the bubble. Liftoff, as they start flying over the city. Fast, but not fast enough to make anyone nauseous.]

[Cass steps forward, swift but gentle, to put a steadying hand on some of Kyle's passengers. It's not that it was a rocky start; she could just tell it was a bit of a shock, and the physical reassurance would help.

Then she turns, and a delighted smile lights her face as they rise above the city.]

It's...beautiful.

[imaginate]

It's really something. [The light from the turtle's shell, especially. Kyle had never seen anything like it, and he loved this part best when he went to new worlds.

But he's also scanning for any fleeing civilians.]

[An odd swell of pride rises in her chest. It's a surprise, and she's not sure if she welcomes it or not. But now really isn't the time to think about it.]

Too many.

[It's a low, frustrated murmur. The dead are swarming the streets.]

Is it like this - in the other Sectors?

[imaginate]

Unfortunately, yeah. [He glances at the flamethrower.] We can't k--[kill them, but Kyle catches himself. Bats have a thing against the K-word, even if Kyle doesn't, and frankly would have no problem blasting apart one of those things if it took the body of someone he knew. He'd had it up to here with that.] get rid of them fast enough.

[Cass glances at him, speaking quietly.] Not killing if - already dead.

[A thoughtful frown.] Maybe that - will help. Dead things...decay.

[imaginate]

Not these guys. [He glances quickly over his shoulder to check how many are following.] Fire's the only thing that destroys them completely.
