Situation: Tu Vishan continues swimming along the ocean floor after his monumental dive, but it turns out there are a whole bunch of undead that want in on the party!

January 20th | Underwater Observers
Any brave enough to risk passing through the barrier and into the water itself will find that they are exceedingly popular with the reanimated corpses, many of which will turn and give chase. They are smart and they are fast, moving with the sole purpose to catch and kill anything living.]

These creatures were fast in the water and are faster on land, possessing of problem-solving intelligence that permits them to open doors and engage in limited combat.
Kedan begin to flee for the palace or their residences when they realise that these creatures pose significant risk to them, for any bitten will eventually succumb and join the ranks of the undead. At the Palace of Landed Sky, Evandau and his police force are busy defending the area from the encroaching undead, though there are many chambers and halls made available for kedan and Foreigner sanctuary in the palace while the threat -- nay, the assault persists.]

[Tris was at the bonfires when it started. The first of the corpses smashed onto the ground only feet away from where he huddled by one of the huge fires and he looked up to see even more falling. Without a thought, he mutters a spell to throw up a barrier around the bonfire and the next closest to him, protecting himself and those Kedan and foreigners nearby.
From within the barrier, he reaches out towards the corpses with him mind and what he finds shakes him to his core. These living dead couldn't have been reanimated any way he knew; they were soulless.]
[It's later, when he escapes the Fire district, intent on returning home and barricading himself, that something worse occurs to him. When the creatures had attacked the kedan near the bonfire, he hadn't felt the departure of their souls, not even faintly, the way he did since he had been taught to block it out for on the battlefield. The undead were killing people and stealing their souls. At least, he was fairly sure that was what was happening - he'd have to find somewhere safe to make sure... And if it was the case? Then maybe there was finally a purpose for him being here.]
Lina Inverse | Fire Sector | OTA
Still, at least they don't seem to do too well with fire, so Lina hurls fireballs at any before they get too close, incinerating them in their path. She moves quickly back to her suite with the intention of barricading herself up in there and holding the fort, so feel free to run into her on the way there or at her apartment in the Fire Sector. ]

It's harder to shoot when the arrows are weighed down, but she adjusts after missing her first shot. Apparently it takes the mutt she hits a couple of seconds to realise it's on fire, because it keeps running at her. She backs up, but the flames consume it before it reaches her.
Katniss stares at the burned husk at her feet. Her stomach churns, and apparently she's not done with the vomiting yet, because what little remains in her stomach comes up now. Prim...
She has to keep moving. She can't stay here.]

There's a bemused smile that twists his lips, because that's odd. Raining blood, sure, why not. But bodies? He stands back, gripping his trident. This is too much like a Game to be anything else, despite what the people here have said. He's in an arena. It's raining corpses.
The bodies move then, and one word hammers into his mind.] Mutts. [He's not ready for this. Not yet, too soon. His fingers tighten their hold, his knuckles white, face pale.
No, he can't freak out now. Not when he has to find Johanna and Katniss... And Peeta. Keep Peeta from Katniss.
He throws his trident, spearing one in the chest and knocking it to the ground. Pressing a button on his wrist cuff, the weapon flies back to him. Not that it helps. It's down for a few seconds before it starts moving again.

Earth sector, then anywhere in the city - say hello to Shepard!
But, true to form, Shepard almost doesn't have time to be confused, or ask for more information - less than a day after she arrives on what she assumes is some new planet, the creatures break through the barrier.
At least having something to shoot, having people to protect, is simpler than dealing with the mystery of her arrival. So Shepard is in the streets, first of the Earth sector where she was brought by the kedan, and eventually making her way to other parts of the city as she fights off the creatures, freeing pockets of civilians and escorting them to safety as best as she can.
Shepard does well on her own, but she's used to working as part of a team - assistance won't be turned down, from those that seem capable. And help will be given to whomever asks for it.]

Santo // OTA
He didn't mind the peace that he'd become used to in this place. He liked not having to spend every day fighting for his life and wondering which of his friends would die before lunchtime. At the same time though, it made the mutant restless, and he needed a way to cut loose and just fight away all the tension, restlessness, and boredom that came with a soldier living during a time of peace.
Santo isn't a graceful or talented fighter. He's big, strong, and durable. He's a brawler who charges in with his fists flying and decimating anything that they come into contact with. It's and ugly style, but it's effective. Once the horde starts to get to big, though, the stone mutant stops, lets them come and climb all over him, scratching and biting ineffectively. He lets this happen until - BOOM - Santo explodes, and the force of the blast along with jagged granite shrapnel tears apart the walking dead, only for Santo to reform his body a few minutes later.]

She's just crossed over into the Earth Sector when the bodies start dropping from the barrier. The wet thump of a body against stone catches her attention instantly; she turns, startled, and without thinking starts to move toward the body even as the kedan on the street shout in alarm, some crowding closer to look while others back away. At first she can't see it clearly through the crowd, but even then, it's obvious something is wrong, as if the kedan's reaction alone doesn't indicate that. There's something about the color of the skin, off even for the kedan, and...
Zombie, is the first thought, when Olivia actually gets a clear look at it. She's seen the post on the network, heard murmurs among the kedan, and maybe the barrier was supposed to keep them back... but that is very definitely a waterlogged corpse, and as Olivia watches, it starts to push itself upright.
The reaction among the kedan crowded around is instantaneous - they run, stumbling over each other, but clearing out in fairly short order... which leaves Olivia standing alone just a few yards from it. She freezes, her eyes locked on the corpse as it tries to sort out limbs somewhat damaged from the fall, breath caught in her throat. She backs away one slow step, two, like it's a wild animal, because some part of her knows if it chases her, she doesn't have a chance. Her free hand moves instinctively for a gun that's not there, and she lets out a soft breath that's almost a laugh as she remembers.

By evening, Tu Vishan breaks the surface and all jiangshi are considered DDOA (definitely dead on arrival), leaving Keeliai safe and the kedan busy with another clean up effort as they slowly return to their normal lives.]
