Characters: Soranik Natu & YOU
Date: February 22
Location: Fire Sector
Situation: Natu begins to stock up on things she's going to need to practice medicine if she can't use her ring
Warnings/Rating: None
[ It really only strikes Soranik on how ingrained the use of her power ring is when she can't use it anymore. There were certain allowances she was prepared to use it for (such as anything when dealing with the virus infected individual and general medical emergencies) but the mundane tasks that were simply managed better with the ring? Not allowed.
Which brought her back to her original problem - getting basic medical supplies. While the ring could easily bring up someone's vitals and monitor them, Soranik felt that the constant use of it for that would drain her ring faster than she'd like. Dressed in some loose pants she'd found in her own district and the black tank she normally wore under her uniform, she made her way through the other districts - picking up things here and there.
At least that was the plan, until she found herself in the Fire Sector with far too many boxes in her hands to grab the one she'd just bought - filled with various things the herbalist swore would dull pain when ground up and applied to wounds or bruises. ]
Just put it on top of everything else.
[ She'd manage. ]

Just put it on top of everything else.
[ She'd manage. ]
Forgive the brat.
[Have an eleven-year-old dressed locally but very much earth-human. Who dipped in the herb store to replenish some stores, because bats, but is now staring at her unimpressed. (Doubly so if she is wearing her ring.)]

I have better things to spend my money on.
[ Her own expression is indifferent - she's far more focused on the packages than she is Damian. ]
no subject
[Yeah, no, not very high opinion of her already. But still.]
Would you require assistance?
no subject
[ Also a good sense of balance. ]
Should I expect more of your attitude if I say 'yes'?
no subject
[Damian considers this, and then responds truthfully and indifferently.]
Yes.
no subject
Fine.
[ But so help her, that doesn't mean she has to tolerate it completely. ]
no subject
[The plus side? Unlike Grayson, Damian is not inclined to chatter, instead efficiently takes packages from her until she can easily see her way, and then pushes the door open, propping it with his foot so she can leave, too. Ninja grace? Ninja grace, completely unconscious.]

But the good thing is there are herbalists. He likes the scent of a herbal shop. It's woody and earthy, and it makes him think of his monastery. Only here, it's being maned by a kedan with changing number of eyes.
With Kyle behind him, he wanders towards the store front and catches one of the many boxes before it falls.]

Thank you. You can put it on top of the other ones.
[ She'll have to stop somewhere to better organize herself, but it'll do for now. ]
no subject
Well, he tried.]
I think you might need some help carrying these.

I live in the Earth sector - it's not too far of a walk.
[ It would be a lot quicker if she could fly, that's for sure. ]

[Now he's offering. Because the moment he tries to remove his hand, the stack of boxes are wobbling out of shape.]
My friend's around the back. If you can hold on a second, I just need to tell him I'll be right back.
no subject
[ A small nod, since she can't gesture without risking having them all fall. ]
Go right ahead, I will manage.

When Connor requests to help someone, he agrees almost immediately, and follows, quite intent on offering his help as well, until he sees-]
Fancymeetingyouhere.
[The words are sharp, and devoid of his usual exuberance.]

[Hades, that's a lot of boxes.]
You might be able to get them delivered.
[She knows the other woman's in Earth. It's a bit of a trip. Not that she's making assumptions about her strength, either.]

[ And she is the more technological sort, but it's always best to know what things she has on-hand until her power battery is found.
But she recognizes Annabeth - she'd mentioned something about a friend who could help her build true medical supplies. A lead worth following up on as far as Soranik's concerned. ]

[ She'd studied Kyle's maps before she went out, but they'd been unmarked except for some of the obvious things. ]

There's one the next street over, pretty decent rates. I've never actually used it, but I doubt it'd be in business still if it were bad.

[ There's a second or so of reshuffling before she gets everything under control again as best she can without ring use. ]
I have not managed to contact your friend yet - although I still plan on it.

[She shrugs, but it's more amicable than indifferent.] If he doesn't respond right away, don't be afraid to try again. [A combination of how wrapped up Leo gets in whatever he's working on plus ADHD, there's a good chance anything missed wouldn't be on purpose.]
[Not that she's one to talk either.]

[He smiles brightly, an implicit "nice to see you," and gestures to her... Everything.]
Need a hand?

You are certainly looking better, Reno - was it?
[ As for the help, well. ]
If it's not too much trouble.
[ It just got away from her and she forgot that using her ring isn't an option. ]

[He says it with a smile as he takes as much as he feels he can carry without dropping anything, and looks down at it all a bit incredulously.]
They don't do deliveries round here? [...] Or shopping bags?

[ It's not exactly high praise, of only because Soranik is the sort of person who believes her way is the best way in the medical world, but she can't argue with good work. ]
I am sure they do, I simply didn't think it would be necessary.
[ And then it kind of got away from her. ]
