[OPEN EVENT] Weekend Winter Wonderland
Characters: All?
Date: March 8th-11th
Location: All of Keeliai
Situation: It's been a stressful month thus far for a lot of people, but Jack is determined to Make All The Happy and decides he needs to get back to his wintery roots by giving the city a proper snowing.
Warnings/Rating: People high on snow glitter?
NOTES: Actionspam OR prose, whatever is preferred! (Settings were just easier to prose.) Make your own thread headers if none of these suit! ♥
Jack had spent the last three hours balanced motionlessly on the top of a flagpole, head tilted back as he listened to the wind and the sound of the city below. Where is Winter? it asked. I'm here! the spirit replied, but he knew it didn't mean his physical presence. He'd had too much on his mind and too much in his heart and in that sense he had indeed been absent these last few weeks.
Eyes closed and thoughtlessly trusting, he tipped forward into open air, letting the wind catch him and hurl him upward into the misty cloud cover that scudded across the stars tonight. At his touch they thickened, fat and pale grey against the indigo backdrop and Jack swirled them up, the motions so ingrained in him they felt just like breathing. In the small hours of the morning snowflakes began to fall on the sleeping city, specks at first but then quickly becoming heavier.
Now with a fresh canvas to work with, Jack was really in his element. He could never have done something like this back home, not anywhere in his world. It would have been too strange, too inexplicable, drawn too much attention. But here on the turtle, things were different. There wasn't really a semblance of normal and Jack poured his imagination and heart into the things he wanted most to share, and from the snow rose gleaming swirls of snow and blue light, forming things of exceptional detail and delight.
By the time the sun rose, a solid three feet of the snow had blanketed the city, glistening and crisp and Jack went rocketing down the streets, rapping on doors and windows to leave spirals of frost on every surface.
"Whooohoo! Snow day! Get up sleepyheads, everyone come out and play!"

Open! Bunny's arrival
Bunny learned quickly that he was on top of a giant turtle, that there was a city on its back, and, most frustratingly, that his tunnels were somehow restricted to this creature's back, and he could leave it no matter how he tried. And after sitting through more of the slowest wagon ride he could handle, the Easter Bunny ditched his escort and decided to explore this strange city on his own.
There was just one problem with that, which was the snow and ice that was covering everything in sight. His feet were freezing, and he'd have blamed Jack Frost for this if he thought he wasn't the only Guardian here.
If only he knew.Still, he's looking all around the city, poking his head into shops and storefronts, wandering from district to district, and even reluctantly walking out among the snowy attractions. He's still surprised that the kedan seem to see him no problem, but that was better than not being believed in.[ooc: Anybody who believes in the Easter Bunny, feel free to catch this Australian

That alone was enough to capture Zatanna's attention.
She watched him from afar at first, busying herself with the snowman she was in the process of creating. Out in the open, where there had been plenty of snow accumulation for her to work with. She'd made it as far as the torso, coming up to chest-level. Packing in as much of it as possible so it would hold. Her attention was too divided, however, between the gradual numbing of her fingers the longer she worked, and the anthropomorphic being ducking in and out of every store he could find. Looking completely lost. She remembered the feeling all too well.
"Lose something?" She finally called out to him over the top of her work-in-progress, carefully leaning atop it.

It wasn't that he didn't notice the girl watching him from over her snowman, but it's more that he was used to not being supposed to be seen. Being believed in, being seen, and supposed to seen by everyone were different things. Besides that, Bunny was more than just a little distracted with... Whatever he thought he was looking for.
At least until she addresses him. "Ah, now, you see..." He rubs the back of his neck, smiling slightly before hopping over to her. "Quite a few things around here, actually. The exit, my Warren... Maybe my marbles too. You haven't seen them, have you?"
no subject
"I think you might be able to find some marbles at one of the shops in Metal. 'fraid we're fresh out of exits and Warrens, though. Sorry."

"What's with all the snow and attractions around here? Don't tell me it's all for me, celebrating my arrival to turtle jail."

A kid in need of attitude adjustment: represent.
Moved on, with a quiet, ">Tt.< Ridiculous," and an eyeroll.
This one did know Jack, and a little bit about the Guardians. Though belief in fun and childhood - for himself, that was - were things he was a little short on.
Wow, Dami. Rude xD
Believed, but apparently wasn't amused, and Bunny's sensitive ears picked up the comment.
"Whoa whoa whoa. Hold up there, mate," He turns and hops back over to Damian, blocking his path. "What did you call me?"
That's typical for him.
Of all thing, it was the accent that got Damian to raise his eyebrows in slight surprise, before shrugging it off.
"What else would you call a giant hairy rabbit with a sharp face in the middle of a city full of shape-shifters in a land - well, turtle - that does not have any rabbits, other than what people who've been brought here might have drawn for the locals?"
Really. What else would it be but ridiculous?
That's why we love the baby bird.
"Ridiculous, maybe," He smirks just a littlest bit. "But how ridiculous can I be when you clearly believe in me?"
AWWW! NGL, he can use all the love he can get.
Then his eyebrows rose in understanding... and drew down in - displeasure.
"You're one of Jack's Guardians, aren't you."
Spoiler: Damian was a little bit angry and disappointed at Jack, right then.
Probably the wrong rabbit for that, then... Unless it's tough love.
It's not like the kid will accept another kind.
Then this will work out beautifully
With disaster as a waypoint or destination?
Why can't it be both?
... good point. Very, very good point.

He is standing in front of a miniature Colosseum, designed down even to its time-weathered pillars, when he sees the giant rabbit. It is...not something he expected here, even though he has come to accept this world is much different from his own. He is looking into one of the nearby shops, but then continues on, having not purchased anything. It is curious. Although perhaps this person is from a world where large bunnies are the norm? Many would consider the people of Atlantis to be oddities for their aquatic-adaptations.
"Are you in search of something?" he asks. "I have no been here long, but I could try to be of assistance."
no subject
"I was was thinking that I could find some clue to getting off this turtle, but I get that's not exactly possible now," He sighs a little, tired of wandering around and being cold. It wasn't doing him much good, and while the sculptures and landmarks made of ice were impressive, they were still cold.
"You're new around here too, mate?"
no subject
He holds out a hand, webbed fingers and all. "I am Kaldur."
no subject
He didn't exactly feel better right now, though. "You don't get it, mate. I can't stay here. I have responsibilities. People are counting on me!"
no subject
"I do understand," he replies. "Unfortunately, we do not leave when we wish and I have been told that the Emperor is not as understanding of our positions or responsibilities in our own worlds. Still, knowing your surroundings better does provide more advantages when the time comes later."
