Situation: Tu Vishan makes landfall at the winterbound republic of Bresilyk!

The starting point of landfall and the smallest port of importance in all the republic. All visitors will have a fish mark stamped on their tin visa if they are granted access here. The homes here are sturdy and built to withstand the harsh sea winds, though the dome has rendered their sturdiness largely irrelevant as the years pass. Fish represent the primary theme of food, with preserved and smoked renditions a commodity often sent for trade to others towns. Local authorities will ask for the tin card visa of each visitor upon first sight, verifying the information with some scrutiny before handing it back and allowing them to continue onwards. There are some auctions held here, with the items obtained often showing signs of recovery from the ocean floor by diving parties in search of fish to net.

[Rolls his eyes at Peter's awful impression of him.] I was caught up in the moment, all right?

Let's go get Ben's suit. [And with that he goes to pay for his prize. Was the "slip" intentional? Probably.]

[He raises an eyebrow slightly, giving Kaine an amused sidelong glance.] Uh-huh. Of course you were.

[Once Kaine's on the move again, Peter follows, rubbing his palms over the front of his jeans. Now that he knows it's Ben's, that helps. He'll ask more questions once they're a little less public and surrounded by people.] Sure.

[He's being dead serious.

Pulls out his coin purse and pays for the suit. It's a little waterlogged... but definitely Ben's suit. Once he has it, Kaine just sort of stares at it. He has no idea how he's going to transport this thing.]

[Peter stays just out of Kaine's way, hands in his pockets as he watches him. Honestly, he didn't know what to expect in terms of Kaine's reaction once he got the suit in his hands. And, watching him now, he's getting the distinct impression that Kaine didn't know either. He glances around once, clears his throat, and then steps closer.]

Congratulations. I think it's time to leave the auction house?

Sure let's walk around here with a bright red spider suit. No problem. [He doesn't care, but he knows you and May do...]

At the very least, I think we should stop standing in this one spot.

[Kaine has a point, though. They need a… a bag. A backpack. Hell, a giant sweater to wrap the suit up in.]

Or you can nonchalantly stuff the suit down your shirt, first.

Sure, I'll get right on that. [Goes to move, staring at the costume. This really was a stupid costume, made on a shoestring budget, topped with a store-bought hoodie. That stupid light blue...]

I got an idea. [Flips the hoodie inside out, and stuffs everything into it. The red sticks out at parts, but it's harder to tell it's actually a costume.]

[Peter smiles a little, giving a firm, pleased nod of his head.] Great. Now we can go out in public, do a little shopping, and maybe buy a backpack or two.

And you can tell me more about your prize.

[Tucks the package under an arm.] I already have one. Back at the suite. [Not that it would be any good now..]

I... I've told you that I'm not the first. Ben was. This was his.

We probably should've brought it with us.

[He slips his hands into his pockets as they walk, keeping his gaze straight ahead to watch where they're going.] ..What was Ben like? He must've been pretty awesome, since you think so highly of him.

I wasn't expecting to see an item from home on a bulletin board.

Ben was the best of you. No matter what life threw at him, he always saw the best in people, even when living among the worst. He was also an idiot, wholeheartedly believing that a psychopathic murderer who made his life a living hell for five years could find redemption. [Tightens his hold on Ben's costume. He still doesn't understand why Ben put so much faith in him.]

That's fair.

["The best of you." That just feels so strange to hear, somehow. Personally, Peter's not sure there's any part of him that could be considered better than anyone else, but as Kaine goes on it seems like he's starting to understand. Ben's better than even himself, and he can see why Kaine feels so strongly about all this.]

Sounds like he's really someone worth taking after.

I didn't... I-I'm not. [Just the thought of taking after Ben could have made him laugh. He could never be Ben; it was far too late to even be Peter.]

He was a good man, just leave it at that. [Though this is reminding him of the time Aracely pointed out how blue reminds him to be a better person. Or was it just the hoodie she stole from him?]

We can be good men, too. [Having said that, Peter gives Kaine another little smile.

And then he lets it drop and gestures to the bundle again.] The auctioneer guy said it came with "toys".

[Snorts at the notion. It was far too late for that.]

I'm guessing he meant the usual toys. Ben was a perfect... twin of you. You had similar tastes. [Being vague was hard.]

[He knew that reaction was coming. Hence the subject change.]

Ah. Sooo… Thwip thwips and... cell phones?

[He knew that if Peter knew who he really was, all of this would be over.]

Seriously? That's as subtle as you get?

And no, when Ben was alive cell phones weren't exactly portable. [...Despite that only being like 5ish years ago.]

You try thinking of a better way to be specific and subtle at the same time.

Okay, not cellphones, then. But he had other toys?

Yeah. He had your standard toys [Keeping his hand at his side, he makes the thwip gesture.], your tracers, and some toys of his own creation.

[Peter blinks, eyebrows arching upward.] Tracers? What tracers? What kind of toys did he make?

[Looks around the streets trying to find a place where they can speak in private. Seeing an alleyway, Kaine pushes Peter towards it.] If we're having this conversation, we're not going to do it on the street. No wonder everyone knew your damn identity!

[That makes Peter flail his arms out a little, mostly out of sheer surprise.]

Hey! First of all, that's not how it worked, and second of all, I can walk. No need to shove.

Please, I used to ask myself how the hell you weren't unmasked before.

[With that little argument out of the way, he looks around once more to confirm the coast is clear, then reaches into the blue bundle and fished out a spider tracer from the utility belt. He drops his voice low.] This is a spider tracer. It's tuned to your spider sense. Throw and follow. [A pause] Actually, I think these were designed to work with the web shooters... Older you shaped his like spiders because he has a problem and had to do it the old fashioned way.
