Event | Landfall | Bresilyk | Aihsohlow
Characters: Any and all!
Date: December 3 - 11, 2013
Location: Aihsohlow, Bresilyk (landfall)
Situation: Tu Vishan makes landfall at the winterbound republic of Bresilyk!
Warnings/Rating: Please include warnings in comment subject lines
OOC Post | Approved Items | Special Gifts
Aihsohlow | Phorezton | Markutte | Countryside
The starting point of landfall and the smallest port of importance in all the republic. All visitors will have a fish mark stamped on their tin visa if they are granted access here. The homes here are sturdy and built to withstand the harsh sea winds, though the dome has rendered their sturdiness largely irrelevant as the years pass. Fish represent the primary theme of food, with preserved and smoked renditions a commodity often sent for trade to others towns. Local authorities will ask for the tin card visa of each visitor upon first sight, verifying the information with some scrutiny before handing it back and allowing them to continue onwards. There are some auctions held here, with the items obtained often showing signs of recovery from the ocean floor by diving parties in search of fish to net.

Just because you can't hear them doesn't mean they don't have voices. [He points out mildly, dipping his fingers in the water and letting a couple of the baby fish nibble at them.] What have you been up to?
no subject
He won't be able to do it for long, but the fish could probably use some variety.]
You're right, I spoke too soon on it. [He gives a nod, a small smile on his face.] I've gone sledding and checking out auctions, mostly. But most of the time, I'm dealing with little dramas happening with people I know, with other people I know.
no subject
Ah? What sorts of drama?
no subject
Don't worry, I'm not risking that. I've had too many close calls. [He'll only keep them in for a minute or so before pulling them back out and folding his legs under him.]
Some people don't think before they talk. Not that I really blame them. Everyone makes mistakes; I know I have. [He sighs, looking out at the water.] It's probably the weather combined with the season. People get testy with holiday things.
no subject
Mm, not everyone has the self control to think before they speak. Still, it's never fun to be caught in the middle of all that.
no subject
They don't. Not that I can talk either, I have a tendency to run my mouth without thinking. [He laughs a little at that. God knows, he's stuck his foot into his mouth plenty of times.]
So, I've been caught in drama, and you've been... what have you been up to, lately? [He should have kept up, he should have.]
no subject
Not much. Egg care keeps me busy. Otherwise, keeping up with Kaldur's training, for the most part. [He's a sea-hermit.]
no subject
[He laughs at that, as the next part has his face showing real interest. It was already real, but this is real too.] How is his training going? Is it harder to do it here then it would back home, or is it pretty much the same?
And how's egg care going? I'm not asking too many questions, am I?
no subject
It's... more difficult without Mera. She knows more about his abilities than I ever will, but we're managing, I think. [As well as they can.] Egg care is going as well as I imagine it could be. And no, you're not. You've met Garth, you know how used to chatter I must be.
no subject
[See, he's got this down. But he wants to say something encouraging, like 'she might come back'. But he's not giving any false hope when it comes to that sort of thing.] Yeah, I think I have some idea of how much chatter you've dealt with.
[Oh, Garth.] I'd offer help with any of that, but I might not be the right person to help with that. The egg I could help with. We'll set our kids up on a playdate sometime, they might like that.
no subject
[A quiet snort of laughter.] Maybe. It's hard to tell what they'll like or not until they hatch.
no subject
But don't we as parents get to dictate what out kids wear and do until they're old enough to tell us no? I thought we'd have the power for a couple of years!
no subject
[That just gets a snort out of him.] Spoken like someone who's never raised a child. You think I ever told Garth what to wear and do? Even Artie and Cerdian would randomly decide they didn't like something sometimes.
no subject
I don't know, I always assumed that parents picked out the clothes. [He grins.] Maybe not the what to do part, but definitely the clothes. When I have my first kid, I'm going to probably have a rude awakening. I can see it now.
[Hand up.] First human kid, I mean.

I wasn't a big fan of socks myself. [He laughs, remembering that rather well.] I still don't really like socks, I'll wear sneakers without them if given the chance.
[Oh boy, what else.] Alfred keeps trying to dress me, too, even now. What's really wrong with a pair of sweatpants?
no subject
no subject
Okay, probably not. But they are comfortable! Can't deny that!
