[When you have spent literally over half your life at a camp for training demigods how not to die in the mortal world, it's really not all that surprising that Annabeth is bad at normal nine times out of ten. There's just usually other things she'd rather be doing. Like poking at her laptop. Reading a book. Knife practice (not that she isn't already good, but it never hurts to spar, and she very much enjoys the 10:2 ratio of victory over Percy right now). Research of any or all kind, and she hasn't stopped drawing buildings even here.]

[So please ladies. Come to her suite, knock on her door, and kidnap her away for shenanigans and girl times, and don't take no for an answer!!]

I'm not entirely surprised. [A small sigh.] So what kind of magic were you planning on sharing?

I've got a few ideas I figured I'd throw at you.

There's levitation, definitely. [They'd mentioned that one previously] I could probably even manage a little bit of divination or other card tricks, too, if you're looking for more the stage kind. Oh, and I could make it snow...but then, I guess, I've already been outdone on that one.

[sophos]

[She nods at the levitation, because she's pretty curious about that.]

Is it actual divination, or just for show? Because I've had plenty of experience in prophecies. [Maybe a little begrudgingly.]

[And here is where she looks a little sheepish.]

Sort of both, actually.

Divination is a legitimate art form. It's not one of my specialties, though. I know the basics, but I couldn't go into as much detail as, say, someone who's been studying fortune-telling exclusively.

Oh, yeah - I know. A friend back home hosts the Oracle. And demigods, well, sometimes our dreams are prophetic. How do you do it?

[Holding up a single hand, she calls out a few backwards words, summoning a deck of tarot cards from thin air.]

With these.

Here, take a look.

Tarot. [She nods, knowing what the cards are.] I've never used it.

[But she takes the deck, a look of recognition on her face alongside an amused grin at the motif.] Did you do that on purpose?

[She shuffled them a few times before handing most of the deck over, save for a single card. Artemis.]

I have no idea what you're talking about.

It's not like I saw these in the shop and immediately thought of you or anything.

[sophos]

[She's teasing, but on some level, it's a nice feeling that Zatanna did think of her in relation to them. Annabeth looks through the art on all the cards with a grin, even if they aren't accurate depictions in the slightest.]

No Artemis? And Hera's a lot meaner looking, just saying. [Actually she's probably just biased but w/e.]

[She snaps the Artemis card to light, flipping it over a few times in careful observation before smirking.]

The Artemis I know would probably have a fit over this card.

[She laughs a little, both at what Zatanna says and the card itself.] The Artemis I know prefers to look about twelve. Eternal maiden and all that, and to match the average age of her Hunters.

[She takes half a second to decide whether or not it was the twelve-year-old part or the Eternal Maiden line that she found more hilarious. Then she realizes it doesn't even matter, and bursts out into the appropriate fits of laughter.]

Eternal Maiden.

Right.

[That girl has one of the dirtiest mouths on the entire Team.]

Guess the descriptions don't match up?

Well, you've got the blonde hair...and the archery...but she's definitely not a twelve-year-old.

[She was almost going to add 'and definitely not a Maiden', but that probably wouldn't have sounded as nice.]

Older than me, and at least half a foot taller.

Her hair's more auburn, for me. The archery's pretty much the same though. [She's grinning over the comparisons.]

Honestly, she's one of the most helpful goddesses. She understands the world and mortals a lot more clearly than the others, since she spends so much time on it.

She's also not a goddess, either. I'm pretty sure. Like, 85% certain.

But she is incredibly helpful. I can't think of a better person to get stuck on a two-person mission with.

[sophos]

[Annabeth snorts.] You'd probably know is she was, I think, if you spend that much time with her.

Good to know that's the same, at least. She saved my life once, without hesitation and knowing what it would mean for her.

Eh, you'd be surprised. Some of us can be really good at keeping secrets when we want to.

I still don't even know Robin's real name. For that matter, I don't even know what color his eyes are.

[There's a fine line between secret and paranoia, of course.]

[She glanced back down at the cards in Annabeth's hand.]

Did you want to do a reading first, or save that for later?

[sophos]

Not all that surprised. [Given what she knows of the other Robin. Even if the secrecy makes her frysquint.]

Shouldn't we find some place to sit for that?

[backwordscompatible]

[Try frysquinting directly at him sometime. He'd only smirk back in that annoyingly cute way he does.]

Unless you have a strong preference for standing.

I could probably levitate them in the proper pattern. Never tried it before, but there's a first time for everything, right?

[sophos]

We can sit. [Even on the ground is ok she don't mind; she sort of glances downward to show that, after she cases the area for potential seats.] Though I don't mind if you want to test the floating thing, too.

How about both?

[Sure enough, she claims a spot of grass not too long after, placing the cards directly in front of her before waving a single hand over them.]

[With a faint gust of wind, the cards come to life, swirling around until they've managed to arrange themselves in a particular pattern.]

Just touch one to flip it over.

[She sits easily and watches with curiosity as Zatanna works her magic, literally.]

[Annabeth considers for a moment, then reaches for one towards the middle to flip as instructed.]

[As soon as her finger barely grazes the surface, the card flips over to reveal...The Hermit]

[Zatanna doesn't even bother hiding her smirk when she catches sight of it.]

Talk about a double-meaning.

This card is supposed to represent your current state. Do I really need to go into an explanation, or do you get the picture?

[Annabeth actually groans.] I thought these things were supposed to be all mysterious and vague till they come to light?
