Event | Satellite | Salvage & Repairs
Characters: Any and all!
Date: May 22 - 26, 2013
Location: Keeliai, turtleside, ARSHEPHELIOS cluster remains
Situation: The fires are put out and repairs around the city have begun. With life preserved, eyes turn now to what exactly crashed down into the ocean.
Warnings/Rating: Please put CW in your subject lines
Satellite Crash Event
Crash Landing | Salvage Party | Shocking Spectres
Questions | Keeliai | Repairs | Salvage | Other | Oceanside | Shellside | ARSHEPHELIOS-side | Coralside
The majority of fires are reported as under control and repair crews start forming up to bring Keeliai back to her pre-scorched splendour. This is all well and good, but there remains a cluster of debris that crashed into the ocean drawing the attention of salvagers and Foreigners alike. Boats and teams form up and head up to scour the ocean, where the cluster rests upon an expansive and ancient coral formation and can be reached within ten metres of the surface.

open!
He's currently trying to dig something out from a pile of rocky rubble, wearing his army pants and dirt-smeared white undershirt. He's sweating and a little smudged from the effort, but he's stronger than his wiry frame would indicate, and though he moves carefully, he's not having too much trouble.] C'mon, almost...

The trinkets were nice, even if some others kept snatching the ones she had her eye on and quickly scurrying away, but she managed to get a hold onto a few that might be worth something.
The musicbox she found was hers to keep though, that one she decided. The music was lovely after all.
That's when she notices him, pausing long enough to assess the situation before making her way towards him, the bag of things she collected weighing on her shoulder lightly (she didn't find much she figured would sell) as she tries to figure out how she could help.]
Need a hand there, mister?

If you could just- hold this chunk here steady for a bit while I wedge this out, that'd be great. [He motions toward the chunk in question with a shake of his head - it's a little wobbly stationed up toward the top, more so when he starts jimmying the capsule out.]

Thanks. You out scavenging too?
no subject
What is that thing anyway?
no subject
I dunno, they're containers of some kind. I opened a couple already, found some little toys and pictures in them - stars, mostly. Someone'll probably buy them. [He takes hold of the capsule and starts working to pry it open, carefully.]
no subject
... Stars? [That's different. Weird.] I wonder what they're worth?
no subject
He finally manages to wrench the capsule open, and is treated to another little handful of toys and starscape photos.] Yeah, like these. Don't look like any star systems I've ever seen though, y'know? I've just been taking whatever I can get for 'em.

[Those were... pretty, really, and that fascinates her.] None I'm familiar with either. It's not a bad plan, not when there's plenty of things to sell. It's better to get rid of them now than when they lose what value the kedan has for them.
no subject
That's about how I'm seeing it. I wouldn't know what to do with this stuff anyway, y'know? The idea of things being up in space is kinda mind-blowing.
no subject
Never been in space either, but considering they just crash-landed here, I think it's not so surprising anymore.
no subject
When I'm from, space travel is just somethin' outta Buck Rogers or Flash Gordon strips. [Man won't even land on the moon for another 24 years from his time.]

Okay, if you say so. Just as a warning though, some of that rubble looks kinda shaky. You might wanna be careful pulling that out. [She's prepared to catch it if it falls]

Hey, I'm just trying to make sure you don't have a wall falling on your head. But if you say you've got it, I believe you.
no subject
Not a word.
no subject
Go ahead and grab it. The pile won't fall now.

But he also still let us stay in his apartment when we needed a place to hide.

He sounds nuts. Hide from what?
