Situation: Tu Vishan makes landfall at the winterbound republic of Bresilyk!

The starting point of landfall and the smallest port of importance in all the republic. All visitors will have a fish mark stamped on their tin visa if they are granted access here. The homes here are sturdy and built to withstand the harsh sea winds, though the dome has rendered their sturdiness largely irrelevant as the years pass. Fish represent the primary theme of food, with preserved and smoked renditions a commodity often sent for trade to others towns. Local authorities will ask for the tin card visa of each visitor upon first sight, verifying the information with some scrutiny before handing it back and allowing them to continue onwards. There are some auctions held here, with the items obtained often showing signs of recovery from the ocean floor by diving parties in search of fish to net.

[He only nods and follows, tailing behind him with his eyes wandering the auction house. It certainly doesn't seem like the place is teeming with shady people looking to get their hands on some superhero-y items. Just a normal auction house. Peter doubts they even had a clue what they were selling out. Still, it's clear by his actions (though his words certainly confirmed it) that Kaine's not about to let anyone else have that suit.]

If we're lucky, no one else will even bid on it.

Yeah, but who knows what the reserve is.

[Fights the urge to jump up and grab it off the stage as it's brought on.

The auctioneer describes the "peculiar outfit" they discovered from beneath the surface, as well as all of the various "odd little gadgets" it comes with, ending that it would make a fine present. A mother bids on it for her child.

Kaine bids 25 juulan more.]

[Peter mostly just sits and watches the proceedings. The jump in the bid amount between that mother and Kaine's seems a little extreme, though. At least in Peter's opinion.]

Dude, seriously. Be careful. We really don't have a lot between us.

[The mother seems surprised by that, but bids 5 more. Kaine bids an additional 10 juulan and gives the woman a glare that could kill.]

You have no idea how much money I have, Parker. [And he planned on keeping that way... mainly because he knows you wouldn't approve of how he's getting it.]

[He turns a surprised look on Kaine. What?]

Okaaaaay, so how much money do you have?

[The woman goes to bid again, but then Kaine glares again and she doesn't say anything.]

[Snarls.] None of your business.

[Peter frowns a little, looking back toward the front of the room.]

So I'm assuming you're gonna explain things a little better here once you've got your hands on that suit, right?

Depends on your definition of explanation.

[And as Kaine has successfully scared the woman (and most other people there, he wins the auction.]

Something more informative than "How much money do you have on you," or "let's hope we have enough, for their."

[He even tried to an impression of Kaine as he quoted him. By no means is he trying to piss his friend off; he really just wants to know who this suit belongs to.]

[Rolls his eyes at Peter's awful impression of him.] I was caught up in the moment, all right?

Let's go get Ben's suit. [And with that he goes to pay for his prize. Was the "slip" intentional? Probably.]

WOW, I LOST A WORD THERE OH WELL :|

[He raises an eyebrow slightly, giving Kaine an amused sidelong glance.] Uh-huh. Of course you were.

[Once Kaine's on the move again, Peter follows, rubbing his palms over the front of his jeans. Now that he knows it's Ben's, that helps. He'll ask more questions once they're a little less public and surrounded by people.] Sure.

[He's being dead serious.

Pulls out his coin purse and pays for the suit. It's a little waterlogged... but definitely Ben's suit. Once he has it, Kaine just sort of stares at it. He has no idea how he's going to transport this thing.]

[Peter stays just out of Kaine's way, hands in his pockets as he watches him. Honestly, he didn't know what to expect in terms of Kaine's reaction once he got the suit in his hands. And, watching him now, he's getting the distinct impression that Kaine didn't know either. He glances around once, clears his throat, and then steps closer.]

Congratulations. I think it's time to leave the auction house?

Sure let's walk around here with a bright red spider suit. No problem. [He doesn't care, but he knows you and May do...]

At the very least, I think we should stop standing in this one spot.

[Kaine has a point, though. They need a… a bag. A backpack. Hell, a giant sweater to wrap the suit up in.]

Or you can nonchalantly stuff the suit down your shirt, first.

Sure, I'll get right on that. [Goes to move, staring at the costume. This really was a stupid costume, made on a shoestring budget, topped with a store-bought hoodie. That stupid light blue...]

I got an idea. [Flips the hoodie inside out, and stuffs everything into it. The red sticks out at parts, but it's harder to tell it's actually a costume.]

[Peter smiles a little, giving a firm, pleased nod of his head.] Great. Now we can go out in public, do a little shopping, and maybe buy a backpack or two.

And you can tell me more about your prize.

[Tucks the package under an arm.] I already have one. Back at the suite. [Not that it would be any good now..]

I... I've told you that I'm not the first. Ben was. This was his.

We probably should've brought it with us.

[He slips his hands into his pockets as they walk, keeping his gaze straight ahead to watch where they're going.] ..What was Ben like? He must've been pretty awesome, since you think so highly of him.

I wasn't expecting to see an item from home on a bulletin board.

Ben was the best of you. No matter what life threw at him, he always saw the best in people, even when living among the worst. He was also an idiot, wholeheartedly believing that a psychopathic murderer who made his life a living hell for five years could find redemption. [Tightens his hold on Ben's costume. He still doesn't understand why Ben put so much faith in him.]

That's fair.

["The best of you." That just feels so strange to hear, somehow. Personally, Peter's not sure there's any part of him that could be considered better than anyone else, but as Kaine goes on it seems like he's starting to understand. Ben's better than even himself, and he can see why Kaine feels so strongly about all this.]

Sounds like he's really someone worth taking after.

I didn't... I-I'm not. [Just the thought of taking after Ben could have made him laugh. He could never be Ben; it was far too late to even be Peter.]

He was a good man, just leave it at that. [Though this is reminding him of the time Aracely pointed out how blue reminds him to be a better person. Or was it just the hoodie she stole from him?]

We can be good men, too. [Having said that, Peter gives Kaine another little smile.

And then he lets it drop and gestures to the bundle again.] The auctioneer guy said it came with "toys".
