[When you have spent literally over half your life at a camp for training demigods how not to die in the mortal world, it's really not all that surprising that Annabeth is bad at normal nine times out of ten. There's just usually other things she'd rather be doing. Like poking at her laptop. Reading a book. Knife practice (not that she isn't already good, but it never hurts to spar, and she very much enjoys the 10:2 ratio of victory over Percy right now). Research of any or all kind, and she hasn't stopped drawing buildings even here.]

[So please ladies. Come to her suite, knock on her door, and kidnap her away for shenanigans and girl times, and don't take no for an answer!!]

[There was a reason this visit was so necessary, and the look on Annabeth's face was it.]

Got any plans for this evening?

Um. Not particularly, I guess. [Beyond diving into her laptop or potentially some mackings.] Why? [Thinky face as she tries to figure out what the other girl is getting at?? Annabeth, c'mon, you're smart.]

[That was the beauty of this whole plan: she was basically making it up as she went along.]

[Good luck figuring out her mind before she does, Annabeth.]

[Wait. Wait. Wait.] Go where?

[Because what is spontaneity?? Why is there not a plan here??]

He's in the kitchen. [Eating, of course.]

[The best plan is no plan.]

[Upon hearing Percy was here after all--and not surprised in the least, she responded by rising to her tiptoes to call over Annabeth's shoulder:]

Hey, Percy! I'm stealing your girlfriend tonight, alright? Don't wait up!

[sophos]

[No, no, she's sort of - not panicking, exactly, but she looks at a bit of a loss. Even something vague in mind would be better!!] Out where?

[She's half expecting Percy to call out a protest from the other room, but all she hears is "Have her back by midnight!" in a light tone, and Annabeth turns to stare open mouthed in the general direction of where he is. Her stupid boyfriend.]

[To which she shouts back:] No promises! [...before grabbing Annabeth by the hands and attempting to lead her off.]

Out-out.

The world is our Turtle, and if we keep moving as slow as it does, we'll never actually get to see any of it.

[Hush that all makes perfect sense.]

[It's a halfhearted protest as Zatanna starts dragging her - she doesn't care for spontaneity most of the time, but between both Percy's essentially kicking her out and Zatanna's own enthusiasm, maybe she's a little more okay with the potential of it.]

[And curious. Even if she shakes her head at the "world is our turtle" remark.] So then what are we going to see?

[She'll never stop trying to get answers though okok.]

You said you wanted to see some real magic, right?

I figured we could head to the park first. I know a few spells I could throw around out in the open you might like.

[This is better and she visibly gets a little less tense.] You could have just said that from the start.

My way was more dramatic, though.

[Rule #1: always know how to make an entrance.]

Besides, what did you think I was going to drag you to?

[She makes a bit of a face at admitting this.] I had no idea. You didn't give any signs or hints. [And therein lies the problem...!]

Not even an inkling of suspicion?

[Come on, Annabeth, haven't you ever made a pure, wild guess once in your life?]

[sophos]

[NO. Okay maybe like once or twice when it was the only option but even then there was still a little thought.]

[A little awkwardly:] I kind of thought something had come up, before I realized you were in a good mood.

[Someone needs to give you a lesson in spontaneity. Consider this your first class.]

Not this time, no. I did manage to get ahold of Eva like you suggested, but she didn't know anything.

[sophos]

[People keep trying to inflict this on her whyyy.]

I'm not entirely surprised. [A small sigh.] So what kind of magic were you planning on sharing?

I've got a few ideas I figured I'd throw at you.

There's levitation, definitely. [They'd mentioned that one previously] I could probably even manage a little bit of divination or other card tricks, too, if you're looking for more the stage kind. Oh, and I could make it snow...but then, I guess, I've already been outdone on that one.

[sophos]

[She nods at the levitation, because she's pretty curious about that.]

Is it actual divination, or just for show? Because I've had plenty of experience in prophecies. [Maybe a little begrudgingly.]

[And here is where she looks a little sheepish.]

Sort of both, actually.

Divination is a legitimate art form. It's not one of my specialties, though. I know the basics, but I couldn't go into as much detail as, say, someone who's been studying fortune-telling exclusively.

Oh, yeah - I know. A friend back home hosts the Oracle. And demigods, well, sometimes our dreams are prophetic. How do you do it?

[Holding up a single hand, she calls out a few backwards words, summoning a deck of tarot cards from thin air.]

With these.

Here, take a look.

Tarot. [She nods, knowing what the cards are.] I've never used it.

[But she takes the deck, a look of recognition on her face alongside an amused grin at the motif.] Did you do that on purpose?

[She shuffled them a few times before handing most of the deck over, save for a single card. Artemis.]

I have no idea what you're talking about.

It's not like I saw these in the shop and immediately thought of you or anything.

[sophos]

[She's teasing, but on some level, it's a nice feeling that Zatanna did think of her in relation to them. Annabeth looks through the art on all the cards with a grin, even if they aren't accurate depictions in the slightest.]

No Artemis? And Hera's a lot meaner looking, just saying. [Actually she's probably just biased but w/e.]

[She snaps the Artemis card to light, flipping it over a few times in careful observation before smirking.]

The Artemis I know would probably have a fit over this card.
