Satellite Crash Event

Crash Landing | Salvage Party | Shocking Spectres

Questions | Fire Sector | Earth Sector | Metal Sector | Water Sector | Wood Sector | Outlying Areas

The early morning hours of May 21st are broken by the sound of a low lying explosion and a veritable rain of fiery bits and bobs such as molten hot metal and space debris. Those out and about in the very early morning (three hours before dawn) see a meteoric shape streaking overhead and leaving a debris trail. Those interested in following it may find themselves distracted by the debris raining down across Tu Vishan, starting fires and damaging buildings turtlewide. Tu Vishan certainly is, for the great turtle grinds to a halt amidst all this and a trace of concern for the little ones on his shell can be felt in the minds of many.

[Okay, now she just has some foot in her mouth, great.] Oh-uh, well, I just assumed by the way you were asking about it…? [Pathetic answer is pathetic.]

This? Oh no, I don’t think so. I have no idea what this is, but it’s definitely not the thing that’s making Tu Vishan sick. [Recollecting that dream is easy, she thinks about it fairly often.] There’s this kind of essence, not exactly a spirit though, that’s making Asti sick and it’s been getting worse. Or so I’ve heard. So what I think is that it’s going to show up to finish him off. After all, I think it’s the thing that’s killed off all his brothers and sisters. [That can’t do anything but bring her down some.]

Either way I don’t know of any way to fight it…

[Well that is definitely an interesting flurry of information - and he didn't even have to pay or trade for it! Well, unless you count the crazy surfboard ride, but technically he supposes that's her trying to help him out.]

I figured maybe we could compile all the information we've collectively found in talking to Asti in our dreams. Put it all together, maybe it'll paint us a more complete picture of the situation.

[And what she just said? One of the more interesting tidbits he's heard in a long time.]

Funny you should say that. I know someone tried to do that on the network not too long ago after the shared dream without much luck. Since it looks like Asti told people different things maybe we just have to figure it out on our own. Kind of like a spiritual quest.

[At least, that's the way she saw it. Avatar spirit stuff, probably not a big help to most people.]

All I know is we need to make it through today first.

[As they crossed into the Earth Sector the majority of the the chaos seemed to be toward the center where the market district where more than half the buildings were on fire.] Please tell me your friends don't live near there...

Putting all the information together seems like a better way to go about that. I don't see anything particularly spiritual about our situation right now. I've already learned a lot more from a few other people about what Asti told them.

[That's the point of talking about it, he figures. But she's right - that's really beside the point right now. Right now, he needs to find Ariadne and Dom.]

No, they're a little farther to the west. Building three.

[Her mouth half slides into a patronizing line. If only she could let him see the spiritual experience she had with the previous Avatars and the way Asti was just permeating such a massive spiritual aura that even she could pick it up, but that wasn't really what she should be focusing on.]

West it is.

[They barreled through the streets, randomly protecting fleeing kedan by forcing ledges out of building walls and the occasional air blast to put out initial fires without even slowing down. When they came into the residential district Korra couldn't help but notice it was doing a lot better than the rest of the sector.]

Building three, building three... Ah-ha! [Grinding to a halt in front of the unit, Korra let go of Arthur's waist and gave what could be construed as a smug look.] One free ride to the Earth courtesy of your Avatar.

[Her eyes flicked from Arthur to the suites and to Arthur once more and her grin falters a little.] Just remember what I said about- well, if you need a place after all this craziness stops.

[IF it stops. The way the marketplace in this Sector was looking...]

[It's more than a little harrowing, that's for sure, not like floating in zero gravity at all. But Arthur manages to keep calm. He's good at that. Unflappable, stick-in-the-mud Arthur. That's him.

When she lets go of him finally, he musters as much of his dignity as he can (which probably isn't much), straightening his clothes absently. Not out of worry for the clothes, really, but more for his overall demeanor.]

Thanks. I owe you one.

[And he'll take that seriously, too.]
