The early morning hours of May 21st are broken by the sound of a low lying explosion and a veritable rain of fiery bits and bobs such as molten hot metal and space debris. Those out and about in the very early morning (three hours before dawn) see a meteoric shape streaking overhead and leaving a debris trail. Those interested in following it may find themselves distracted by the debris raining down across Tu Vishan, starting fires and damaging buildings turtlewide. Tu Vishan certainly is, for the great turtle grinds to a halt amidst all this and a trace of concern for the little ones on his shell can be felt in the minds of many.

I'll bet. [He eyes his building, and the buildings around it, with an almost-wry look.] Just when things seem like they're starting to settle down. Now I'll practically have to start from scratch again.

Settling down? Don't tell me things like this is normal here. [Well, she would sympathize, except she barely lived in her own place before it got trashed so there's not much scratch to start from anyway.]

Last time it was a zombie attack. [He says that with the same tone of voice that someone might say "it rained last week".]

Zombies? Like 'I want your brains' zombies? [Wow, you are way too calm in the way you said that, mister.]

[aloadeddie]

Pretty much, though I didn't get close enough to hear if they were actually saying "braaaaains," so who knows. But they were definitely dead people running around attacking us.

[Probably because he's run "zombie apocalypse" survival scenarios in dreams before.]

Yeah, I'm... just gonna take a raincheck on meeting zombies. Nasty things are a pain to get rid of.

I would've expected more fortification against these kinds of attacks if that's the case.

[aloadeddie]

I kind of doubt it's a regular thing that happens, but who knows? The kedan don't seem inclined to tell us much of anything about what went on here before foreigners started showing up.

So it's been all peace and joy before I got here? Because that wasn't the impression I got.

[aloadeddie]

It's been crazy the whole time I've been here. Even crazier than just finding myself on the back of a turtle. [Which is pretty crazy, even for someone in his line of work.]

[urbanmagic]

A very big turtle, mind you, which isn't really that bad. [But hmmm...] Gotta keep that in mind though. Anyway, you sure you weren't harmed at all?

[aloadeddie]

I was completely uninjured, no worries on that front. [It's Ariadne he's worried about now, but it's not her job to help him.]

Best news I've heard since I woke up. [Considering it was either that or trying to save screaming people.] Sorry I got your stuff wet. Hopefully they've all dried out now.

In the meantime, I think I better get out and see if there's any more places that need help.

[aloadeddie]

[He nods.] I have friends to check on.

[Pauses a beat.] And thanks. It'll be fine.

[A pause. Huh.] If you've got something of theirs with you, I can help pinpoint a location.

[aloadeddie]

I know where they are, but thanks for the offer. [It's the truth, though he also says it because he's seriously skeptical of all these powers and doesn't like dealing with them much if he can help it. Nothing personal.]

All right. Good luck on your search then, and be careful. [That's all she's giving him before she leaves, since she's deemed the place safe now and should focus more on damage control while she can.]
