The early morning hours of May 21st are broken by the sound of a low lying explosion and a veritable rain of fiery bits and bobs such as molten hot metal and space debris. Those out and about in the very early morning (three hours before dawn) see a meteoric shape streaking overhead and leaving a debris trail. Those interested in following it may find themselves distracted by the debris raining down across Tu Vishan, starting fires and damaging buildings turtlewide. Tu Vishan certainly is, for the great turtle grinds to a halt amidst all this and a trace of concern for the little ones on his shell can be felt in the minds of many.

[Mike's little dance would be funnier if Leo wasn't nursing his own burn - he stepped roughly on a branch during his search for the escape route and hadn't realized that the ash-coated interior was a mess of hot coal and boiling sap. At the time the pain had come secondary to concern for Mike's life and the immediate pressing need to Do Something, but now the pain is searing.

Leo shifts his weight to the ball of his foot. It'll keep for later, and won't cripple him to put it off. What can't keep is the people who still need saving.

The kedan child rushes over, heedless of the roaring fire mere feet away in her joy that her guardians are okay; the parents catch her up and retreat to a safe distance. Leo makes sure they get clear, then turns his eye to the next rescue job.]

Mike, the big tree across the way - two kids, third branch up! You throw, I'll catch!

[It worked last time; Leo sees no reason to abandon a perfectly good strategy.

It's gonna be a long morning.]
