Her body language is tense, but she's not averse to company. Approach: Y/N?]

So he's on his way back to his suit when he spots the bonfires burning brightly. He decides this might be a nice spot to stop and have a cigar before crashing for the night. He sinks down onto a bench nearby and bites down on the end of a cigar. He's in the process of lighting it when he glances over to look at Storm. Oh.
Awkward. Should he say something? No? Okay. So he just kind of nods an acknowledgement and finishes what he's doing.]

She appears as if she's in very deep thought, mind lost to the ether, but really - one is more than welcome to settle there beside her and enjoy the warmth the blaze provides. ]

And there are lots of conversations to listen in on - easy to eavesdrop when it's dark and there are lots of people milling about. The woman he finds himself next to is quiet, though, lost in thought. Which makes for a nice break, allows him to take a deep breath, warm his hands, just be a regular guy for a moment or two.]
I've always preferred the tropics. [He mutters this almost to himself - doesn't expect a response from her.]

Standing there with her hands extended toward the flames, she looks around at the others gathered--and then double takes. Not far away is by far one of the most beautiful women that Favrielle has ever seen. By D'Angeline standards, no less. Her heart begins to beat a bit faster as she begins to approach, hoping above all things that one of her countrymen has finally joined her in Keeliai.]

Annabeth | open
[She's been wandering the various sectors since the turtle started diving, and it's good to relax a little bit here, collect her thoughts. On the ocean floor. (Underwater's not particularly a thing she's never done, but never anything like this.) There's too much going on around her, too many distractions, so she keeps moving around, even if she's staring into the flames with a look of intense concentration every time she takes a seat somewhere.]
[She keeps coming back to the line of the poem Eva gave her. And some of it worries her.]

"But here there is no light / Save what from heaven is with the breezes blown." [An idle quotation, murmured to himself on gazing up towards the water, but he pauses before Annabeth and offers her an unassuming smile.]
Is this seat taken? I don't want to disturb.

At some point he decides he's done enough investigating for the evening and wants to enjoy some downtime. This is the first time he's seen any bonfires since arriving, so he decides to take advantage of it. While helping himself to some hard cider, he spots a familiar face.
Moves over to where she is with his mug in his hand.]
Some weather, huh? Though the bonfire is a nice touch.

But it's freezing out here, and he's feeling sluggish enough not to really want to go out looking for trouble. Just being out is enough to take his mind off everything but the sudden cold.
He could go home. Leo's probably wondering where he is. But he's not ready for that yet. Instead, once prowling around the rooftops gets too cold to bear, Raph reluctantly approaches one of the bonfires.
He tells himself he'll only be there long enough to get warm, plopping down on the ground not too far from Victor. Raph sits like a crouching gargoyle, shoulders hunched and knees drawn up in front of him, watching the fire in brooding silence.]

Logan | closed to Inara
[He's afraid. Like a little child, he's terrified of the dark, so choking on the air and struggling to see straight, when the glow fades he stumbles his way to the fire sector. He remembers being told of it, remembers the woman on the console. I-something. He'd remember her name if he saw her, he thinks, right now the most important (desperately important) thing is light, and heat.]
[By the time Inara finds him, he's managed to calm himself a little, though there are a few lingering signs of panic. The sweat on his brow hasn't quite dried, and he's still shaking slightly. But at least he's breathing, in a simple shirt and pants with a blanket wrapped around his shoulders. There wasn't time to find a coat when he left, he'd needed to get to heat and light.]
no subject
When the turtle dove, Inara had been…understandably concerned, along with everyone else. The only reason she did not panic was because the moment she felt the shift, she’d secured her few things and gone outside and asked around. Assured that they weren’t all going to die, Inara did the best she could to prep for what would probably be one of the creepiest experiences of her life.
Now, everything was cold and dark – just like space – and she has to admit that this might just be a little bit worse.
Hands wrapped around a hot cider, she shivered and took what heat she could from the bonfires, and moved through the crowds looking for familiar faces, checking on those she ‘knew’.
When she found Logan, she immediately pressed the cider into his hands and guided him to sit by the fire – far enough so as not to get singed by the crackling and snapping wood that spat embers into the air, but close enough to still feel the heat and be guided by its light. ]
Here. Drink this. [ it’s warm, sweet and spicy – good for the soul. ]

Dorian Gray | Open
[While he is here, he may as well see what he can learn from the city's natives, so he takes to wandering about, socializing at his most pleasant with kedan and foreigner alike.]
no subject
But they still go out, and she's still as observant as ever as they hang around the bonfires, so she doesn't miss Dorian. Most importantly, she's noticed that he's talking to the kedan, which is something not a lot of foreigners do outside of the necessities, partly thanks to the hostility and the gang war. It piques her curiosity enough that when she sees Dorian alone, she leaves Brandon for a moment to walk over to him.]

But she also isn't huge on sitting in the dark by herself, and there's only so much of it she can take before she finds herself creeping out of her apartment and moving towards the light.
Free food and drink are always welcome, and soon enough she's settled in with a mug of hot cider in her hands and a plate of food at her side, a blanket across her knees. She finds a spot on the edge of the crowd, near enough to still get some of the heat and warmth from the fire, but far enough away to still have some solitude.
Well, in theory.]
